You'll be pleasantly surprised at the clothing you can find in the baby sections of most thrift store and consignment shops. Sometimes you will find baby things with the original tags still on them but you'll get them at a deeply discounted price. Even the gently used baby stuff will appear new, but with a much lower price tag. Shopping consignment stores and thrift shops for cheap baby gifts means your budget will go a lot further. Your gift will fill a whole drawer, and not just a gift box.

Dollar Store Dash

One of my favorite cheap practical baby gift ideas is from The Dollar Tree, where just about everything costs a buck. Their baby section has diaper disposal bags. You won't find them cheaper anywhere. Grab 5 or so boxes and tie a nice bow around them before sticking them in your gift bag. Diaper disposal bags come in really handy at home and on the go. If you're not careful this shopping trip could become the hundred dollar dash, but poke around the store a bit and see what else you can find. You never know when you might find a gift goldmine.

Little Clothing Hang-Ups?

Many moms will tell you that baby hangers are expensive- and hard to find. But it's a misnomer if you know where to shop. Your neighborhood Target store has the cheapest baby hangers around. When I tell other moms that 10 hangers are about a dollar the typical response is delighted astonishment. Grab a bunch- you won't even find a deal this good at the dollar store!
