Guess how I found out what the best twins baby gifts are? I asked a few moms of twins, and boy did they have lots of ideas to share!

As the mother of two singleton babies I didn't know what a good baby shower gift for twins would be off the top of my head.

So, I asked several moms of multiples and now I'm here to share what they had to say. Twins are double fun, double trouble, and a double bundle of joy. Here are our ideas for twins baby gifts.

Feeding in Pairs

Twin nursing pillow, such as the the EZ-2-Nurse Twins Pillow. While many expectant twin mothers are given lots of hand me down items, these work best (comfort, baby positioning) when they are new and not used. The foam in them breaks down with wear and tear. This would be a totally awesome baby shower gift for twins if the mother is planning on nursing.

Bottles to supplement, or for the exclusively bottle-fed twins. It's a good idea to find out which bottles the parents plan to use, and then help them build up their supply.

Lots of burp cloths and bibs. You really cannot have enough of these- for singletons OR twins baby gifts!

Twins Clothing

Cute and clever outfits make great twins baby gifts. Outfits that match, or ones that don't? Most twins parents feel strongly one way or the other about matching so get the inside scoop before you go shopping.

Sleepers with zippers and not snaps. Snaps are just plain cruel to a new twin parent!

Blankets for Twins

Large receiving blankets, for the first couple weeks twins can be swaddled together. It's the sweetest thing ever, but requires really large receiving blankets to work.

Swaddlers, such as Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe these seem to be more important with twins than with a singleton, so they make excellent twins baby gifts.

Bunting inserts for use in a car seat, such as JJ Cole Original Infant Bundle Me. These work so much better than trying to put coats on the kids when it's cold outside.

Twins Baby Gear

Baby Trend Double Snap N Go Stroller This is the best way to go for infants. The convertible (infant to toddler) double strollers are WAY too bulky and extremely heavy. After having twins you will look at a convertible stroller and never want to leave the house just because the stroller will be such a nightmare. The double snap-n-go is light weight, can be used with many different car-seat models, and is easy to push with a great large storage basket.

Boppy Nursing Pillows are great for so many things. You can use them to put the babies head to head and they can visit with one another before they can move around. Mom can also use it when she wants to nurse the babies separately. She can put each one on either side of her on the couch in a Boppy, then alternate feeding one while talking, reading a book or playing with the other.

Glider-Rocker or Recliner. A cushy comfy chair that mom can sleep in with both kids is a must!

Night Lights. Enough said.

Graco Pack 'n Play with Bassinet and Changer, makes a nice portable place twins can sleep together. Some twin parents get more than one and keep one upstairs in the bedroom and one downstairs for daytime napping. The changer accessory makes a great place to change diapers downstairs instead of going to their room constantly since diapers need changing so frequently.

Travel swings, they are compact, easy to take with you to visit family and don't take up as much space.

Double Diapering

Diapers. Our unique diaper sample packs would come in quite handy. As if one baby doesn't need a ton of diapers. Lots and lots of diapers are good twins baby gifts.

Other Advice from Twins Moms:

"We were not a fan of the bumbo seat, and ended up not using ours because they seem so dangerous with an older toddler running around. Since the bumbo immobilizes the baby's trunk, if a toddler crashes into them it could cause serious head trauma (imho).

I wouldn't recommend high chairs either. Two full-size high chairs take up way to much space, 2 travel chairs that strap to regular chairs worked out a lot better for us." Krista, WA
